Top 12 Podcasts for Kids

Do you podcast?  If you are unfamiliar, a podcast is a type of audio show that is normally delivered in multi-part episodes or by a specific topic.  Our family is definitely a huge fan of them.  With the variety to choose from with age groups and subject matter the possibilities are truly endless.  They are great for road trips, long plane rides, or something to have on at home too for a bit of enrichment.  They are a wonderful jumping off point for interesting conversations and cover things from history, science, literature, and lots more.  Some are more straightforward with information delivery, while others are in more of a narrative theatrical format with multiple voices, sound effects, and music.  Below is a selection of our family's most favorites!

From the podcast: History is amazing.  The stories from our collective past have the power to transform people today.  It is our goal to share true stories of inspiration, humor, and the incredible achievements of all types of people, many of which are sadly under-shared, and to do so in an easily accessible and diverse manner.  Through bite-sized audio-based stories, music, a website, and illustrated children’s books, we aim to spark the curiosity of children, parents, teachers, and anyone else who loves a great story and has an interest, of any size, in the past.  We hope our audience discovers – or rediscovers – that we are all human; and we always have been.
