This is also a fun way to display a button collection too. Need a button in a pinch? Just snip one off!
Here's what you'll need:
- Embroidery hoop (any size works, I used a 6 inch hoop)
- Scrap piece of fabric (slightly larger than the hoop)
- Embroidery floss
- Scissors
- Tapestry Needle (I used the same kind you would use for cross stitching)
- Buttons! Any size, shape, and color works great!
Here's how to make it!
- Pull the inner ring out of the embroidery hoop.
- Stretch fabric across the inner ring nice and taut and place the outer ring over it and tighten the screw at the top.
- Trim any excess from the edges.
- Trim a piece of embroidery floss several inches long.
- Using the tapestry needle, sew a button to the fabric and tie a tight, strong knot to the back.
- Repeat until the front is covered in buttons, any design you like.
- Trim or glue fabric edges so they are neatly hidden.
- Your art is now ready to hang!
Happy crafting!
